Engagement Term: From the date of hire until 1 June 2026
The objective of engaging the Workshop Design and Facilitation Team is to design and facilitate a climate workshop that empowers young people to become communicators and action multipliers within gaming and youth communities, fostering increased climate literacy, peer-to-peer influence, and youth-led climate action.
- Workshop Design and Preparation:
- Conduct consultation with the organizing team to understand objectives, target participants, and expected outcomes
- Design the overall workshop framework, including learning outcomes, methodology, and session flow
- Develop a detailed agenda and facilitation plan grounded in participatory and youth-centered learning approaches
- Prepare workshop materials, including presentations, facilitation guides, handouts, and interactive tools (digital or physical as applicable)
- Integrate climate education content with youth engagement and gaming/community contexts
- Facilitation of Workshop
- Lead and facilitate the workshop sessions in an interactive, inclusive, and engaging manner
- Apply participatory facilitation techniques to encourage dialogue, reflection, and peer learning
- Manage group dynamics to ensure safe, respectful, and productive discussions
- Guide participants in translating climate knowledge into communication and action strategies relevant to their communities
- Adapt facilitation approaches based on participant needs and engagement levels
- Capacity Building for Climate Action
- Support participants in identifying their role as communicators and influencers within gaming and youth spaces
- Facilitate exercises that strengthen advocacy, storytelling, and peer-to-peer engagement skills
- Enable participants to develop initial ideas or action plans for climate communication and outreach
- Documentation and Reporting
- Document key workshop discussions, outputs, and participant reflections
- Compile a summary of outcomes, insights, and recommendations
- Provide a post-workshop report including methodology, participant feedback, and key achievements
- Submit all workshop materials and final documentation to the organizing team
Week 1 (Inception and Workshop Design): May 4-8, 2026
Key Activities:
- Inception meeting with the organizing team to confirm objectives, participant profile, and expected outcomes
- Rapid needs assessment and contextualization (climate, youth, gaming communities)
- Development of workshop design framework and draft agenda
Deliverables:
- Inception note outlining approach and workplan
- Draft workshop design framework (objectives, methodology, learning outcomes)
Week 2 (Materials Development and Finalization): May 11-15, 2026
Key Activities:
- Development of detailed session plans and facilitation guide
- Preparation of workshop materials (presentations, activities, tools, and handouts)
- Final alignment with organizing team and incorporation of feedback
- Finalization of facilitation and implementation plan
Deliverables:
- Detailed session plan with facilitator’s guide
- Participant materials (slides, worksheets, activity tools)
Week 3 (Workshop Facilitation): May 18-22, 2026
Key Activities:
- Facilitation of the 2-day climate workshop
- Delivery of interactive, participatory, and youth-centered sessions
- Management of group work, reflections, and action planning exercises
- Daily synthesis and documentation of outputs
Deliverables:
- Successfully facilitated 2-day climate workshop
- Consolidated daily outputs (group work, reflections, action ideas)
Week 4 (Documentation and Reporting): May 25-29, 2026
Key Activities:
- Compilation and analysis of workshop outputs and participant feedback
- Preparation of final workshop report and documentation package
Deliverables:
- Workshop report including: summary of sessions and activities key insights and participant outputs, evaluation summary
- Proven experience in designing and facilitating participatory workshops, trainings, or capacity-building sessions
- Strong background in youth engagement, climate action, climate communication, or related thematic areas, with experience in youth communities, digital platforms, or gaming ecosystems considered an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to design engaging learning experiences and materials, and to translate complex topics into accessible, youth-friendly content
- Strong facilitation skills, including managing group dynamics and delivering interactive, inclusive sessions
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively under tight timelines
- Availability on last 3 weeks of May 2026
