Project Site: Quezon City and Caloocan City
Reports to: Project COPE Project Manager
Period Covered: August-September 2025
WWF-Philippines invites qualified suppliers to submit proposals for the procurement of pushcarts and to support the Circular Operations for a Plastic pollution-free Environment (COPE) Project. The project aims to enhance waste segregation and solid waste management in selected project areas within Quezon City and Caloocan City.
WWF-Philippines is a non-profit organization that works to improve Filipino lives by crafting solutions to climate change and conserving the country’s richest marine and land habitats. WWF is currently implementing the "No Plastics in Nature Initiative (NPIN)”, a global initiative that aims to stop plastic waste leakage into nature by 2030 through the elimination of unnecessary plastics, doubling reuse, recycling, and recovery, and ensuring remaining plastics are sourced responsibly.
Project COPE works with local government units and waste workers –– particularly from Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City and six barangays (formerly known as Barangay Bagong Silang) from Caloocan City –– in piloting a replicable system for solid waste management. This includes enhancing waste collection and segregation. Through this procurement, the provision of tools such as pushcarts will help support regular waste collection schedules, ensure proper waste handling, and alleviate challenges faced by areas with inconsistent waste collection due to narrow roads and other logistical issues.
The equipment will be deployed to benefit selected barangays and waste workers in Quezon City and Caloocan City. This initiative is part of WWF-Philippines' commitment to:
- Encourage proper waste segregation.
- Support local solid waste management efforts.
- Prevent the leakage of plastic into the open environment.
Specifically, the Fabricator will have the following responsibility:
- Provide a quotation for the fabrication of pushcarts with the following specifications:
- Product Material:
- Frame - Made of bi square tubing 1-1/2
- with bi sheet 0.6mm cladding for base
- with bi round bar 12mm for lock mechanism
- with bi wire mesh for cladding
- Product Design: To be embossed/branded with the WWF and partner LGU logos
- Product Dimensions: L 56.0 in x W 27.0 in x H 36.0 in, with a 400 kg capacity
- Product Material:
- Submit to WWF-Philippines its complete business documents, permits and official receipts;
- Based on the decision of WWF-PH, build a prototype and conduct a quality/durability test. Based on feedback, adjustments could be made to the prototypes prior to production;
- Be available for consultation and meetings prior to purchasing the product;
- One-month after the deployment of the pushcart, the supplier will do a “check-in” or evaluation of the product to see if there is any room for improvement to the design;
- Consult regularly and work closely with WWF-Philippines.
