General Description

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in the implementation of the approved business plan and all conditions set forth in the Grant documents for the assigned project.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assists in field-related finance and administrative matters, including the submission of compliance/ activity reports to donors and partners. 

2. Acts as lead in some research/surveys undertaken in the community of the assigned project, results of which may be used by concerned external parties. 

3. Supervises field activities for the community conducted by either external parties or WWF-Philippines.

4. Coordinates with concerned personnel, local partners and stakeholders in the planning and implementation ensuring that project activities are aligned with the commissioned activities of external parties. 

5. Prepares reports and documentation to be submitted to concerned users in a timely manner. 

6. In coordination with the Project Manager and partner scientists, prepares publishable technical/scientific reports and papers regarding project intervention results. 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO THE PROJECT

1. Assists the PM in the proper implementation of weekly plans concerning direct activities on site. Aprises the PM with everything on the ground including anticipated challenges and bottlenecks to manage timelines.  

2. Prepares and files documentation of field activities, for project reports and donor information. 

Working Relationship

Internal: Within WWF Philippines, reports to Project Manager, and expected to work with Consultants, Business Managers and other units

External: Government officials, government agencies, academic institutions, community leaders and members, other NGOs, local CSOs and the private sector

Minimum Expected Output

• Field / Activity reports 
• Periodic reports as may be required 
• Technical and Financial reports as may be required by WWF-Phils, partners and donors 

Minimum Position Requirements

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, or Social Science related course

Work Experience: 
• At least five (5) years relevant experience in project management and other field related to the assigned project.  
• Background in agriculture and working with farmers is an advantage.
