Reports to: Program Manager for ESD
WWF-Philippines recognizes the important role of education in not only increasing knowledge about our environment, but also in deepening values, in implementing solutions and in inspiring transformed lifestyles.
Isapuso, isabuhay, itaguyod ang mga prinsipyo ng likas kayang pag-unlad, ito ang mithiin ng ESD unit ng WWF-Philippines. The Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) program of WWF – Philippines aims to create change in perspective about the environment and human’s relationship with it, and to create change in perspective about development in order to ultimately develop allies and advocates who live out the principles of sustainability. Through ESD, schools and communities can identify and act in ways that contribute towards achieving a more sustainable future where progress is defined by maintaining balance across the economy, the society and the environment.
- Work with the ESD team in designing and implementing relevant and innovative learning experiences:
- Create modules and develop learning materials.
- Facilitate workshops, give lectures and lead discussions with and for partners, stakeholders and WWF staff.
- Plan, implement and evaluate projects and activities to supplement ESD’s whole-school-approach.
- Nurture partnerships with schools, communities, organizations, corporations and local government units.
- Provide technical and administrative support to the planning and implementation of ESD programs and activities of WWF in partnership with schools, communities, organization units, or other donor companies:
- Coordinate project activities to ensure timely and effective implementation of work plans and targets.
- Work with the ESD team for project documentation, monitoring and reporting, as aligned with the work plan.
- Build effective working relationships with WWF units and teams, and facilitate the involvement and participation of the target stakeholders.
- Ensure proper internal processes with different WWF units regarding provision of necessary services or support needed for the implementation of projects and activities.
- Attend regular staff meetings and participate in regular planning and assessment meetings.
- Perform other tasks incidental to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Migrate, organize and manage ESD assets to Microsoft.
- Organize procurement, finance, and admin requirements of ESD Activities.
- Lead coastal clean-up and TAKPUL activities.
- Persistent in practicing sustainable habits, willing to embrace a sustainable lifestyle and carries genuine love for the environment.
- Preferably with background in community development work or community organizing, education, science.
- Comfortable in facilitating sessions for different age groups (from pre-kinder to adults) and backgrounds (schools, communities, LGUs, businesses/corporations) both online and on-site.
- With knowledge in navigating through digital platforms, creating presentation materials, crafting visual aids.
- Can speak and write comfortably in Filipino and English, and preferably Bisaya.
- Willing to travel and do community fieldwork in WWF project sites nationwide.
- Open to working during weekends and outside usual office hours.
