Community Coordinator (Manpower Pooling)
General Description

The community coordinator will undertake key enterprise development interventions to the partner communities of the assigned project.  

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Walks the target population through the steps of the assigned project’s specific enterprise approach and ensures their active participation in group activities, share their experiences to help the group learn and take responsibility for their enterprise. 
  2. Actively facilitates market linkages (e.g. buyers) and institutional support for the enterprise within the locality. 
  3. Facilitates the conduct of regular meetings, enterprise concept orientation and training. 
  4. Assists the enterprise in undertaking the market chain study process. 
  5. Accompanies the enterprise in test marketing of their products. 
  6. Ensures the progress of the activities and closely coordinates with local partners from the local government and community stakeholders. 

Working Relationships

Internal: Interacts with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator for the assigned project/program, VP for Sustainable Production and Market Engagements (SPME), SPME Project Managers, HR and Accounting, Communications and Marketing 

External: Barangay and Municipal / City Government Officials of the host communities of the assigned project/ Programme, National Government Agencies, NGOs and CSOs, community stakeholders, business support organizations (BSOs), people’s organizations (POs) academic and research institutions and other aligned agencies 

Minimum Position Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, environment or related field  
  • Work Experience
    • At least 1 year work experience in data gathering, research and analysis. 
    • Experience in working with community organizations and other stakeholders relevant to assigned project’s advocacy.  
  • Special Qualities/ Skills Required
    • Advanced computer skills and proficient in MS Office
    • Strong data gathering and analytical skills including ability to analyze information from different sources and provide appropriate recommendations
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment
    • Ability to travel in project areas
    • Fluency in Tagalog and English (written and oral) 
    • Ability to understand Cebuano, Waray and Ilocano languages is an advantage
