About the Project: 

Beginning March 2023 until February 2025, WWF-Philippines shall be implementing the Climate Resilient Coastal & Marine Ecosystems in Cagayancillo - a Project funded by the Gerry Roxas Foundation-USAID INSPIRE. The overall goal is to conserve marine biodiversity, effectively manage the natural ecosystems, and protect the natural capital for the wellbeing of surrounding communities. In three years, the project aims to improve the management of the 1 million hectare- MPA in the municipality of Cagayancillo while enhancing the socio-economic well-being of its people. 

Following the logic of the Theory of Change, five strategic approaches were identified under which priority activities were determined for the scope of this project namely – policy development, knowledge management, support to biodiversity-friendly enterprises, establishment of public and private partnership mechanisms, and governance strengthening and capacity building. The priority activities are classified into tiers, whereby interventions shall be done at the MPA level, the municipality level, and the provincial-national-international level. 

This Site Coordinator is responsible for: 

1. Taking the lead in implementing activities under the strategic approaches of the Climate Resilient Coastal & Marine Ecosystems in Cagayancillo, Palawan Project; 
2. Serving as the primary contact person of the local partners and stakeholders in the project sites; 
3. Primarily responsible for communications and logistical arrangements in the project sites; 
4. Establishing good rapport and working relations with the LGU, partners and stakeholders, particularly the local communities. 

1. Prepares activity designs and budget to be consolidated by the Business Manager/Project Manager; 
2. Periodic monitoring of activities in the site;
3. Works with the Project Manager and the consultants in the conduct of training and other educational activities; 
4. Documentation of project accomplishments using photos, and drone footage that are geo-referenced; 
5. In coordination with the Project Manager and partner-scientists, prepares publishable technical/scientific report and paper regarding the results of project interventions; 6. Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

1. Bachelor’s degree related to coastal resource management or environmental management or social development; technical familiarity on any of the following: fisheries and coastal/marine resources management; 
2. At least 3-5 years’ experience working on coastal resource management projects; 3. Preferably between the age of 25-40 
3. Experience in community engagement (organizing skills and community organizing an advantage); 
4. Strong communication, oral and written, and inter-personal skills; 
5. Good decision-making skills, organized, and takes the initiative thus requiring less supervision; 
6. Interested and willing to learn the technical aspect in relation to the project implementation, particularly on biodiversity-friendly enterprises; 
7. Willing and able to travel; 
8. Ability to connect (technically, emotionally) with environmental concerns and the people; 
9. Problem-solver and able to adapt well to arising situations.
