Tropang ISDA (Isang Super at Dakilang Alagad) ng Dagat

Tropang ISDA is a training program to promote marine conservation awareness in the Sulu-Sulawesi Marine Ecoregion (SSME). This program targets educators from the local government units, other NGO's and representatives from the communities. A series of trainings and workshops is conducted to build the capacity of the members of the community in environmental education. After undergoing a three-day workshop, each participant is given a Marine Conservation Awareness kit that includes the following:

  • A primer that includes practical information about the marine ecosystems and the need to conserve marine resources.
  • An animation video
  • Two cassette tapes containing a short stories based on local folktales and legends
  • Also included are radio ads or public service announcements.
  • A trainer's guidebook on how to use the kit.
  • A poster showing the major marine ecosystems and its inhabitants
  • A stickerA t-shirtA bag

Each participant of this training workshop is encouraged to continue the campaign on marine conservation awareness and communities are also encouraged to form their own conservation groups.
